Dear Clients and Friends of Boyce & Associates,

We are pleased to present our inaugural newsletter highlighting Boyce & Associates Business Valuation & Appraisal, LLC. Boyce & Associates performs certified business appraisals for a broad array of businesses and industries located in Texas and beyond. We have been in business seven years, and our appraisers each have more than 25 years of experience valuing public and private companies.

We hope to use this new medium to provide timely, insightful, and informational updates on the business appraisal profession, with original content, interesting and unique valuation case studies, as well as timely perspectives on valuation topics, such as how appraisers adjusted for pandemic-era shutdowns. We hope to demystify complex valuation concepts and offer helpful educational feedback you can use with your clients in the business community.

The demand for information about business valuations is growing, driven by increased M&A activity, private equity investment, and general awareness of business value. We expect trillions of dollars of business transition during the coming decade, resulting in the need for business appraisals for a variety of reasons.

For business owners, using a valuation can help them not only to understand their business's value, but also provide meaningful guidance on anchors and contributors to growth and allow them to benchmark progress and plan for the future while navigating critical financial decisions more effectively. For investors and professionals, a business valuation can offer deeper insights into valuation methodologies, market trends, and specific industry analyses.

Some of the most common reasons for performing business appraisals include selling a business, securing funding, exit and estate planning, mergers & acquisitions, in addition to tax and legal considerations. We believe, however, that there are many other very important reasons why business owners should use business appraisals, and we hope to provide some perspective on that in this newsletter.

We hope you enjoy this first installment of our newsletter, and wish you a prosperous start to 2024!

Our best,

Eric C. Boyce, CFA
